What is CPU temp.
I am really wondering if this is also a hardware issue for you.

CPU temperature is ok, according to speedfan.
Besides, aren't the symptoms of overheating problems generally system-wide, i.e. everything freezes? As I have reported before, when my video freezes, Skype still works, I can continue the audio part of the conversation, everything else on the computer works, I can start new tasks, do anything else I want. The only problem is with Skype video.
My only intention in posting this information any more is to try to make other users who might encounter this problem aware of it. I have given up all hope of Skype ever actually paying attention to these reports, trying to fix the problem, or actually doing anything other than trying to shove the problem off any anything else they can think of, whether it be CPU temperature, camera problems, driver problems, DirectX problems, anything at all other than a Skype problem.

Hi Jamie, can you send me a log file to forward to video team?

Jamie as Peter said please create log files and send them to him or me.
We will read them and see what caused it.

Same here. Outgoing video freezes virtually immediately after I start a video call. Going back to the stable version.

For my records, and the enlightenment of Skype Staff, could you please tell me what version of Skype, what version of Logitech software, and what make/model of camera you had when the freeze was occurring?
Thanks.

Whoa, hold on a second. This could be important. Are you saying that you do NOT get a video freeze when running Skype 3.5.x, but you DO get a freeze with 3.6.0.127? If so, could you please give us the exact Skype version number you are running which does not freeze?
Thanks.

Ok, thanks for the clarification. This is not good news, but hopefully it will be an isolated case.
If the situation should change, either you get a freeze in 3.5 or you try another 3.6 whenever it comes out and it does not freeze, would you please come back here and let us know?
Thanks.

Just installed the 3.6. beta on a different partition (I have a dual-boot system) and tested on my home network. No freeze... So probably something to do with my set-up on the main partition.
Have never had a freeze on 3.5.
So will wait until new 3.6. version comes out and retest.

Oh, I absolutely HATE the new version. I had 3.0.0.192 and upgraded to 3.6 ... friends/family are complaining that the pixel quality is suddenly HORRIBLE. I've completely lost live outgoing feed. I get maybe 1 or 2 shapshots during a 20-30 minute conversation showing me my outgoing video. Otherwise, I'm at a complete loss on my camera angle. I have no idea if I'm showing the baby or the wall behind us.
How do I get an older version back? I can only find 3.6 on the Skype web page.

previous skype releases can be found on www.oldversion.com or www.oldapps.com
You would be better advised to try another program which actually works; ooVoo and SightSpeed are both good alternatives to Skype, and work much better and more consistently. Downloading and installing either of them is a matter of 5 minutes each for you and your contacts, and you will be thrilled with the results.
