Full Version: Business Skype Status Symbol

I posted this idea on another forum, but in fact it is more suitable here ...

A different Skype status symbol for "Company Skype User Accounts" could be interesting to avoid calls from desesperate singles ...

I had a call from a woman! I asked in an IM: "Why do you want to speak?".
She answered: "are you married"!
I answered: "you did not answer my question"!
She stopped ringing and IMing!

And I had a French guy today, angry because I refused to let him see my status (he had no argument i was interested in!).

Hey Jean,

Yup, I read that and agree with you that would be a great idea!

I thought that was why SkypeMe was introduced! So these desperate females know who to call smile.png.
People really should respect each others privacy!!!

The problem is there is also the "Skype Me" button on the forum, and people also interpete this as an open invitation! crying.png

My version of this is that you can be found anyway - in forums, in Skype Search etc. So if you don't want to be called, you can set the option to "Authorized users only".

I agree with this ... but since I am posting "too much" on the forum ... i get a lot more calls!
If people want to find me through a Search ... the probability somebody calls is me is much lower.

And i do not want to block potential business relations, i had already one VERY interesting call, and this will bring me most probably business!

But, if it continues ... i will indeed lower my accesibility! crying.png

Jean,

I would suggest to put a statement in the comments field of your user profile. Something like: "BUSINESS CONTACT ONLY" or "PRIVATE, NO UNSOLICITED CONTACTS", etc. Maybe this helps.

Best,
Stony

Thanks Stony for your suggestion and concern ...
But do you really think that putting a message on a website "don't Spam" stops spammers :?:

I think, in the end, Terminus is right!

Another solution ... not post anymore on the Forum ... this will happen during several weeks and quite soon i guess ... no ... i do not leave for holidays!

Hello Jean:

Yes, I do think it does help. If someone reads "business", I think the likelihood of contacts is reduced. At least it works for me ;-) But .... why not giving it a try

Best,
Stony
