Hi,
As an international software consultant, I use Skype on a daily basis to keep in touch with colleagues and make daily SkypeOut calls.
Last week I was unable to log onto my Skype account. I constantly got messages saying that my password had recently been changed and I should try again. However, I had never changed my password.
To make matters worse, it seems that my Yahoo! mail account was hijacked around the same time.
My colleagues have noticed that my account is regularly logged in to, and has some activity on it since this happened, although the user will not respond to chat requests.
I have submitted a support ticket nearly a week ago and have not even had a confirmation email.
I can't even log into these forums on my "hijacked" Skype account, so I've had to create a second account. My problem is that all my contacts are on my old account AND I have SkypeOut credit on it, so I want to regain access to it.
What is the quickest/easiest way for me to regain access to my original account? Is there a direct dial number or something at least because the support ticket system just seems to be next to useless!?!
Thanks,
Brian...

First, without paid services there is NOTHING you can do, the account is lost. If you had paid services then you can raise a ticket via help stating the last 4 digits your CC.
Chats are ONLY stored locally, but if someone has compromised your account he/she can ALSO redcieve your chat messages.
Immediately change your password to lock them out.

That is the point! I can't get INTO my account! It's been hacked and whoever has hijacked it has changed my password and details so I can't get back into the account.
And to make matters worse, I have just received SIX emails from PayPal confirming transactions of 28.75 EUROS by my Skype account, so now as a result, I have lost 172.50 EUROS!
I don't care about accessing my old account anymore, but I at least need to get it shut down!
Seriously, I need some help with this someone!?!

Hi Ike - I blocked my PayPal account as soon as I realized that the fraudulent transactions had been made, and I've just replied to your PM.
Thanks for your help!

I have almost the same problem I have Skype for 1 year and I pay skypeout calls, last time I paid was on 7/09/2007 then on 18/09/2007 I could no longer log in because it says my password is incorrect, I thought I forgot my password so I tried to use e-mail to retrive my password but it says that I type in wrong e-mail. It can not be wrong e-mail because I used it to pay skype and recieved e-mails from skype to it. I use my e-mail now with no problem (it was not hacked). Please help me to get my account back because I paid for it my user name is: vladfirsov
I forgot to say that I have written to skype support 2 letters, more then 72 hours have passed no answer from them.
Thanks,

You are advised that support requests take a minimum of 4 working days to get a reply.

Ike,
Thanks for your help in helping me regain access to my account.
Do you think there is any chance that I'd be able to be refunded the 170 Euros that the hijacker stole from my PayPal account or am I just going to have to write that off as an expensive lesson?
Thanks again,
Brian

Have you tried claiming Paypal, as they must also have a fraud department.
I am sure SKYPE/Ike can help you find out numbers he has called indeed YOUR account history will show you that.
