We have some startup trouble on Windows XP and Server 2003.
The splash screen is shown, but the taskbar icon never appears, and Skype eats up all the CPU cycles it can get. Must be killed with taskmanager.
This problem doesnt appear on Windows 2000.

- If I delete config.xml and/or shared.xml, Skype asks for login and connects as normal.
- If I open our corporate firewall, Skype starts and connects fine.
- When Skype is running, i can close the firewall again, and still make calls.

Do you have any solution for this?

Also, when can we expect the next release?

The problem still exists in 1.0.0.94, however with some improvement.

- When I log in for the first time, Skype connects and can make calls.
- If I reboot the PC, or just shutdown Skype and start it again, Skype just shows "connecting" forever.
- If I delete All UsersApplication DataSkypeshared.xml, Skype connects every time.

So apparently something stored in shared.xml prevents Skype from reconnecting.
