I have one skype contact (daughter) whose video is always frozen, but snapshots are current. After closing the snapshot the video image returns to an image of the snapshot. I have the latest update on my computer. My wife's computer does not have this problem when connecting to the same person. Any ideas what could be causing this. My computer is a new Asus laptop with built in webcam with the latest drivers using Vista Premium. Even if I have not taken a snapshot during the connection the video image is always the very first image of the connection.

I have similar problem with video only on my computer I can see only green screen when using skype video. My camera - Creative Live! Cam Voice works without any problems on other programs. Seeing green screen on my computer I can take snapshot of me or incoming video, but cannot see actual images in real time. Anyone can help?

Likewise. Is there an official skype thread? It seems OBVIOUS that this is a known and serious issue, by now.

there is no official skype thread about it. it's easier to hide your head in the sand. I sent a question to skype and received usual answer - check your setting, download drivers and so on blah, blah, blah...
still waiting for an answer to my repeated question to skype. will let every one know if I get anything, but would not hope for much. maybe they will solve it with next version. I would like to hear from someone who bought webcam from skype shop - maybe that's the idea? either by crap from theirs shop or have problems?

I know this is a little late, but I didn't see a resolution, so here is how I resolved it for my user who had the exact same problem:

Get your daughter to update her Skype.

My user's "problematic" contact was running version 2.5.

Hope this helps someone.

This problem should have been fixed in 3.8.0.180 and 4.0.0.166.

Can you please confirm it?
