Hello

I'm having some problems using Skype to make video calls from Nantes, France to London, UK. After anywhere between 9 seconds and 2 minutes the call drops without much of an explanation. Audio only calls, however seem to work fine, except for the occasional loss of quality every few minutes.

I'm using a Creative Live! Cam Video IM Pro with the latest drivers installed.

My PC spec is:
AMD Turion 64 1.6Ghz CPU
ATI Mobility Radeon X1300 512Mb
2Gb DDR2 RAM
Skype Vers. 3.5.0.234

I've only tried calling one other person so far (my parents - I set up skype so I could contact them from France for free). They're using a Logitech Quickcam, not sure which model. They have a 1Mb connection which has never had any problems.

The internet connection in my room (I'm in private university accommodation) is supposedly 1.5Mbps, but when I check this on broadband speed test I'm getting 1500Kbbps download speeds, and only 89kbps upload. Could this be the cause of the problem? The room was advertised with high speed internet but most websites take several minutes (no exaggeration) to open. The strange thing is though, is that I can get download speeds of 200KB per second, which are about what I'd expect.
