Hi,
I've just rebuilt my machine and am now using gNewsense (based on Dapper Drake). When I do an apt-get update, it ignores the Skype repos, therefore preventing me from downloading.
I suspect this may be to do with the gpg key. Has anyone had this problem? If so, any way around it?
Thanks,
Chris.

If you need gpg key, fetch the key from skype website and add it using apt-key.
(the key is called rpm-something-some.asc but don't let this mislead you).

Hi,
It seems that Skype depends on libs that aren't in Dapper, so I am going to have to download the static file.
Thanks for your input.
Chris.

Looks like the statics depend on QT4. Is a Skype client available wich is less needy? Any old releases would ine.
Cheers,
Chris.

Hi -- the static build doesn't depend on Qt4.

There were also some libraries.
I guess I thought having to use the beta software was not ideal. It would have been nice to have a stable release, also.
Cheers,
Chris.
