Full Version: Missing the old chat history (export)

I am missing the old chat-history function (export-to-html version), from the older Skype versions.

The old "chat history" worked by exporting the chat history to an HTML file and showing it in the browser.

It would be nice if that feature was re-added as an "export" button (please).

The reason is that for a large chat-history, it takes many minutes to show "full" history, and the search-function and view in the chat-window is not as good as many browsers or commandline html-tools.
It is also not possible to mark all in the chat-window with (Ctrl-A) and copy to editor (manual export).

This works in windows, but I can not get it to work with Linux SKype 1.4.0.99, no.png
With linux-skype it just sends the text to the other part.

I don't know if it should work, or the problem is that skype-linux doesn't know which browser to use. In older versions there was a setting in skype to set the prefered browser.

I am also after this feature, would it be appropriate to open a feature request for this in Jira?

Haven't tried it personally quite yet.

Hmm that looks like it is written for Windows. Is there a plugin written for Linux?

With skype4py it shouldn't be too hard to write something, to export a chat to a textfile.

If you add a bit of html, you can even get nice formatting wink.png
