I currently have a Skype account on my desktop computer, and I am based in Toronto, Canada. I plan to install Skype on my laptop. I would like to know if I will be able to use my Skype account from my laptop while I am traveling, say in Italy, to make the same calls I normally make while I am in Toronto.
thanks,
c

No problem at all: install the Skype software, close the window asking to create a new user account, and log in with your known user account and password. After some minutes, all your contacts will be loaded from the Skype servers (if they work devil.png )

If you are staying at a hotel/motel it depends on your Network Connection. Maybe a local Wifi Hotspot will be available. Some hotels will block Skype on their network to protect their income from their telphone system, but generally Skype is the best product at avoiding those restraints.

I've saved a lot of money using Skype on my laptop whilst travelling. Sometimes the call quality can be flaky because of the network quality, but it is usually quite good. Remember to get a good quality headset, using the in-built microphone on your laptop will not generally be good quality sound.

Thanks for your replies so far.

I might add that I plan to use my cell phone as a modem to get a dail up connection with MaGlobe, as I don't see any wifi's near enough to where I will be traveling. Any issues with this?
