Still cannot get no play back sound. I can hear the recorded voice message telling you what to do but i can't hear my own voice after a test call so i opened a terminal and typed: alsamixer -V all and here are the details:

Card: HDA ATI SB
Chip: Realtek ALC888
View: Playback Capture [ALL]
Item: Headphone

saw that there were no grey lines underneath the various columns so i pressed "Esc" and exited alsamixer. Hope one of the forum experts can help get sound. Big thanks
