Hi, I read somewhere that Skype is free for calls originating in Canada or the US for Canada or the US until the end of 2006?

Is this so? Is there a web page that talks about this, and if so, what the costs after 2006 will be?

I think you are referring to the Unlimited Calling Plan.
The UCP provides free calls to landlines and cellphones in the USA/Canada.
Calls must start AND finish within the USA/Canada.
To qualify for subscription you must be both resident in the USA or Canada and be Skype registered in either of those countries.
The Plan costs US$29.95 per year.
Visit skype.com for full details.
