A friend of mine has a webcam and she wants to do a video chat. I don't have a webcam and as far as I know, it [video conferencing] isn't supported in the Linux version. If my friend calls me using the video feature from her computer, will I be able to see her video transmission?

Not yet.

Both video in and out are currently not supported. Although I am not sure, I think a next skype.png Skype release is around the corner (in the upcoming week). This may have support for video (if so, at last we can throw away the cucumbers (see here)).

If it does not, the skype.png team promised they would focus on bringing this in the next released version. That would be somewhat of a disappointment, despite the great work the team has done so far.

Thanks for your answer. That is a disappointment to not be able to at least see her video transmission.
