Hello everybody!
Im running opensuse 10.2. I download tar.bz2 file from official download page, unpack it and run executable as in README file. As a result i get message like "Can not load shared library libsigc ...".
I am sure about installing libsigc and everything else required by SkyPe. I have configured path to all essential libs in ld.so.conf.
So the question is: have you experiences this kind of problems?
Thankyou.

Hello genesup,
I'm having the same problem with SuSE 9.2 and 10.1.
When I want to install skype 1.4.0.74 static, I get the following error:
./skype: error while loading shared libraries: libsigc-2.0.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
When I want to install .skype 1.4.0.74dynamic I get the following error:
./skype: error while loading shared libraries: libQtDBus.so.4
Could anybody install skype Beta with SuSE?

Works perfectly in Opensuse 10.2 here. The fonts is incredible small, though. Have to solve that problem.

To answer your question: I think you have to install the packages, that Opensuse is bitching about. Use Software Management- I think it is called that in english- in YaST2.

Try to install Skype 1.4 as stated in the Forum "Skype on Suse 10.2 - How install libsigc 32 bit?" by giaco. The way they did it worked fine on Suse 10.1!

New version, old problems...
Again it is ONLY 32 bit version.
Again it requires some 32 bit library to install!

WHY NOT 2 PACKAGES one 32 bit and one 64 bit WITH THE RIGHT LIBRARIES (that are opensource and can be redistribute...) INSIDE and a script to run an LDLIBRARY ???

Ok, too complex... giggle.png , why not a simple HOWTO for all the people that are newbyes ???
You boys are not interested in business I understand...

Your BOSS is a real good man to not kick off you out of the company right now! wink.png
Again, can I send a curriculum? smile.png
It is a good place to "work" in if they accept so lazy people!

Hi every1,

I'm running suse 10.1, downloaded the rpm-file from skype, but are unable to install this. YAST2 just tells me that the package had not been found in the medium.

I used to run Win Xp, but moved to Linux during the last week. u see, I am new to Linux, but desperately need some help.

Thanks a million
