Full Version: Won't install: "Invalid Drive J:\"
Skype Community > English > Development, Betas and Skype Garage > Archive > Skype for Windows 3.5 Beta

I haven't been able to get either of the last two betas to install on my system. The installer runs, asks me to agree to terms/conditions, etc and then the installer churns away "computing space requirements." After a while I dialogue pops up saying: Error, invalid drive j:\.

Anyone seen this before? I'm running a Windows XP Tablet Edition.

Sujjest you delete via control panel and re-download. If no joy try beloW;
If still no joy:[color=#FF0000]
Download latest Skype setup file again, but now download to a different location than last time. Do not use default location.
Install Skype to a different location than last time with a different name
Do NOT use default name, use "Skype2" for example.
However to do this since vers 3.2.0.82
The install location can be specified ONLY under "Options" on ‘first’ install, later you cannot change the location when you upgrade (and that's why you do not see it). If you want to change the location, you must uninstall first and then install it again.

I am also getting this problem. Same result if I try to reinstall 3.2. The suggested fix did not work.

I'm having the exact same problem. Only happens after I installed version 3.2. Now I can't even uninstall versaion 3.2 from Control Panel.

Please help.
