the video quality is slow and trails, the call quality is terrible with echos and so much residual noise it almost makes the calls not worth making..... i have downloaded the latest version of skype on my 64 bit computer running vista ultimate edition and just started having this problem. what can I do

What version of Skype your other side uses?
If not one of the latest one then please encourage him to upgrade to Win 3.2, Mac 2.6 or Linux 1.4 atleast.
