What's the point of having the Call Transfer feature if some of us can't use it because it's included in SkypePro?!

Skype to Skype transfers will still work for everyone, however any SkypeIn to SkypeOut or Skype to SkypeOut transfers will require Skype Pro.

Skype Pro seems to be the defacto standard for the professional Skype user, and I guess that Skype felt that it would be better bundled with other Skype Pro services as in incentive to purchase Skype Pro.

I ran two Skype accounts simultaneously and from the first account I called echo123. During the call when I clicked on the Call menu in Skype's main window I noticed that the Transfer menu was inactive, hence I wasn't able to transfer the call to the other account.
Conclusion: I can't transfer Skype calls or any other unless I use SkypePro.

What version of the Skype client(s) are you using for the test?

Today I called my cousin on Skype and tried to transfer the call to the second account I was running. The transfer menu was still inactive. We're both on 3.5.0.107. It looks like this feature can only be used if you have SkypePro. worried.png

I've just been testing this. I have Skype Pro and the transfer menu is inactive for Skype to Skype calls. If the call comes via SkypeIn then the transfer menu is available (and the transfer works successfully).

Ok, done some more testing. The transfer menu is available to me if the call comes from a 3.2 client, but not from a WiFi phone.

All I can say is with my testing here, in the U.S. there is no requirement to have Skype Pro to do Skype to Skype transfers.

I state this in the article about Call Transfer and how to use it, under the Notes section:

Not sure about hardware devices, and if they can support transfers without modifications.

I don't think so.

If you still have this problem, please post so that I can inform CS.

I didn't look where I should have looked. blush.png When I call my second account from the first one the Transfer button is active on the side which was called. The button is inactive for the caller. When I transferred the call after few seconds Skype crashed. I'm going to try again and if it crashes again I'm going to report back.

Thanks, the extra works great and helps me take advantage of the features I am paying for with Skype Pro!
