speechless.png We honestly need SKYPE for Blackberry...
It shouldn't be that difficult if they've already came out with IM+Skype.
But I think it should be a free download.

It's regarding SKYPE IM+.
It's a software that you can download for free, but ONLY for a 7 days trial...
than it's $ 25.
I had it... and I don't really like it.

The original SKYPE should come out with a REAL mobile software for Blackberry.

I've tried using IM+Skype but it's really bad...
and the download it's not even free!
I mean... bigsmile.png yeah, the 7 days trial is free.
$ 25 for "unlimited" use.

And still... I sent 5 messages to the Support...
I sent the logs...
everything.
NO ANSWER.

and anyway... it's really uncomfortable that to use it, I need to leave the computer on... with the call forwarding...

Honestly:
I think that SKYPE (the ORIGINAL software!!!) should be made for Blackberry and it also should be FREE. As it is free to use it on the computer. (Yahoo already came out with an AWESOME Mobile software...)

Best greetings hi.png

The last version is a fully mobile application.
It doesn't require any desktop service.

Greetings to all!

To avoid misunderstanding, I'd like to explain, how our application works.

First of all our application doesn’t use VoIP.
IM+ for Skype Software works stable worldwide in any 3G/GSM/CDMA network and is not dependent on WiFi zones.
When you call any contact via Skype, IM+ for Skype Software redirects the call back to you.
So Skype Credit is necessary for any voice communication with our software.
You also need enabled TCP/IP connection on your phone.

How can you save more using our application?

We recommend you to use Skype Unlimited for USA and Canada.
Using our application you will not be charged for the calls within the US and Canada, even if you
are calling from another countries.

Another tip:
You can enter any landline number (it can be the phone number of a friend you came to visit, or even a phone number of a local restaurant) in the Call Back field in IM+ and the call will be forwarded to the number you indicate.SkypeOut tariffs to landlines and mobiles are different and in most cases calling to mobile is much more expensive than calling to landlines.

You can find more information about call rates here

Why does our application work in such a way?

IM+ for Skype Software uses SkypeOut to transfer voice data over this wireless network.
In this way the call quality is much better than when you use VoIP. So VoIP would generate much traffic and would not guarantee good call quality, whereas communications through SkypeOut generates little data traffic and provides a quality conversation.

Another important reason for callback model is that we, as always, focus on supporting as many mobile platforms as possible. For example, currently IM+ for Skype Software works on Blackberries and Java phones, where VoIP is impossible to implement. For the owners of those handsets there's not that many options to use Skype.

How much data does IM+ for Skype Software use?
IM+ for Skype Software uses GPRS if you want to stay online in IM+ for Skype Software and to send and receive text messaging.
Each message is about 0,5 kB.

There is no data traffic when you call.

This is by far seems like the best software for any modern mobile phone, but I have one question. If I have unlimited Internet access will it use this to make and receive skype calls from my skype account which I have all skype paid services?

Thank you very much, being the author of this software, I am happy that you feel this way.

The answer to your question is both yes and no, at present, the current version will require SkypeOut credits for each SkypeIn to SkypeOut call, but when using the Unlimited call plan there is no cost for Skype name to SkypeOut calls. Also SkypeIn to Skype name calls are also free with or without the Unlimited call plan for the U.S. and Canada. As you most likely know, Skype name to Skype name calls are always free with or without the Unlimited Call Plan for the U.S. and Canada.

I am working on a version that does NOT require SkypeOut credit for SkypeIn to Skype for people on the Unlimited Plan for the U.S. and Canada, but it may not be ready for many weeks. So, I would suggest using the current version at this moment.

A new version of MyToGo for Skype version 2.3 has been released.

MyToGo for Skype allows you to use ANY phone to use remote calling features of Skype from ANY phone to Skype, this allows you top use Skype rates for calls from any of your phones, this also includes Calling Skype names from any phone worldwide, as well as allowing your MyToGo for Skype Authorized users to dial telephone numbers and speed dials as well using Skype.

MyToGo for Skype even allows dialing the Cell, Home and Office numbers of your Skype contacts when they cannot be reached using their Skype name from any phone you use if your contacts have published them in their profiles.

For more information about MyToGo for Skype, which is FREE to the Skype community, please go here:

No one listens to us... But I still hope... You really should make an original Skype softvare for Blackberry. We don't need to make calls through Skype. Just make Skype "messenger". Like GTalk for Blackberry or Yahoo Messenger for Blackberry. Almost all of my friends are on Skype now, so I really need it. And I think I'm not the only one. I don't intend to beg you, but if it's necessary, then I will smile.png bigsmile.png

I would like a reasonably priced mobile device which will take advantage of skype's unique features, specifically P2P, end to end encrypted communication which Just Works. For processor and BW challenged devices then start with chat, but then voice and even video. I want to be able to purchase a cell phone like device, pay reasonable wireless connection fees (or not when I am on my own wifi or fon) and use the device like a cell phone (similar coverage area) making skype2skype connections (and skypeout when they aren't on skype).
oh, and I want a pony also. bigsmile.png

Guys, is there *ANY* skype application for the blackberry that will use VOIP?
I live in brazil and cell phone voice calls here are really expensive.

IM+ and Iskoop they both make VOICE calls to skype contacts. Now guys, really, this makes no sense at all.
Skype-skype calls are free. Now when I'm on my mobile, I'm paying regular cell phone rates to talk to my skype contacts!!! Better just call their phone numbers then...

Thanks in advance, and btw, I agree 110% with this topic. We DO need a global communication by internet.

It makes plenty of sense if you have no other contact method but a Skype Name, or....the person is located in another country, what would your phone provider charge to talk so someone in another country for 2 hours? ;-) How about the ability to check your Skype voice mail. How about the ability to use Skype rates for both international and local calls, and from ANY DTMF capable phone you have.

Make sense now? tongueout.png
