As far as I can work out, currently the only notification of an incoming call is the "ringing" sound, which is all well and "phone-like" but it's completely useless if, like me, you have skype using a dedicated soundcard with a headset, unless you're incredibly geeky and wear your headset whenever you're infront of the PC.

I see there are plans (and already available in the windows version) to be able to have the ringing on another sound device, which is good, except that like me the other sound device is almost always busy doing other stuff. I don't really want to add in a THIRD soundcard!

So can we please get in the very next release some form of modal popup notification of an incoming call, just a window that says "Incoming Call! Answer/Skip", ALONG with the ringing if it's possible.

I agree. I also would like to see some online notifications.

It doesn't need to be in the *next* release, but it would be good to know it's in the plans.

Isn't the skype window appearing when it was reduced to "tray"?

There is (Windows version) an option to use the Ring the PC speaker.

I don't know if it works the way you want it to or not., but I don't recall it
being in the linux version yet.

We already have these call alerts, including ring to speaker, pretty much working and you'll see them soon.
