Skype 3.2 in Vista

Please assist re: malfunction in Sony Vaio (VGN-FZ140E) built-in webcam when skype is loaded. err msg: "webcam used by different component."

I am having the same issue. I am working with the latest version of Skype and Vaio VGN SZ330N. Tried everything and was not able to solve the problem. Please help!
I am using Vist Business Edition

Any other video software running at the same time? Something like video preview, snapshot capture, anything like that? I'm not familiar with Sony laptops, so I don't know exactly what they normally have configured, but this is the most common source of this problem.

If nothing, then you might want to try "splitcam", see if it can get the video stream and then feed it to Skype.
