I see we're further along with the Skype add-in for outlook 2007. I just updated today to 3.2.0.158 and the bug to fix the crashing of Outlook 2007 still is missing I see. Previously the toolbar add-in for Outlook 2007 would cause Outlook to crash though I would receive a specific error message pointing the blame at Skype.
I no longer receive that specific message though Skype still causes Outlook 2007 to crash. Interestingly in Outlook 2007 \ Help \ Disable Items, Skype is now _not_ listed though if I right click in the Outlook toolbar area there is an option to activate the Skype toolbar.
It's the Find Skype Name that I can count on to crash Outlook 2007 every time. The version of the add-in is 1.0.0.69.
Are we further along with a working Skype toolbar add-in for Outlook 2007? This is not a complaint. I'm just curious. Thanks, Dave Horne - The Netherlands
.... this added later - I just opened Outlook 2007 and it crashed even with Skype not enabled. I restarted Outlook 2007 and this time was given a specific error message re Skype. I also see that Skype is now listed as a disable add-in under Outlook Help \ Disabled Items. So I see nothing has changed at all.

I'm replying to myself so this should give you an idea of how much free time I have.
This is not a complaint per se but what can take so long for someone to figure out how to get an add-in toolbar for Outlook 2007 to work? I can understand a few weeks but this problem is stretching out to more than a few months.
I am curious to know what exactly the problem is. If someone could explain this in terms most of us could understand it might prove to be interesting.
That's it ... I'll keep checking to see if there are any new updates for Skype int he meantime. DH

Hi Dave,
I am really sorry about the delays in supporting Outlook 2007. We are working on it, that is all I can tell you at this point. We don't recommend using the Skype Toolbar for Outlook on Outlook 2007 at this stage.

Peter,
I have a problem of using Outlook 2007 with my three email box profiles which I need to access separately. When I have Skype running it doesn't close the connection with the email box profile when I exit Outlook. If I try to open the other email box profile it keeps coming up with the same box. If I go to task manager and close outlook.exe then I can open the three profiles... but Outlook complains that the box was not closed correctly and needs to be checked. It seems to work fine but it is causing me to close out Skype when I want to check my email... Not a good advertisement for using Skype... but I like Skype.
Thanks for the chance to raise the "bug".

Hi kenprettol ~
A possible "fix" for this annoyance is to disable your Skype Add-ons (a 3.2 version feature that has being running interference with several hardware / software functions). If desired, the disabled add-ons can be easily re-enabled.
By disabling your Skype Add-ons, this (and other) annoying related consequences should stop. To disable your Skype add-ons:1) Within IE7, select Tools
2) Select Manage Add-ons
3) Select Enable or Disable Add-ons
4) Highlight Skype
5) Select Disable
6) Select OK
6) Reboot your computerPlease report your results after following through on steps 1 through 7.Cheers!
PS: Microsoft reported to Skype about the high incidence of Internet Explorer crashes (running on Vista) when Skype was operational, hence the Skype add-on feature being identified as the source.

Dear gala.rea ~
I tried the suggestion you gave for IE7 and rebooted and skype still holds onto the first Outlook profile I use. I close Outlook and then wait a few minutes... and restart outlook and it doesn't ask for the profile choice. If I close Skype, Outlook works fine. I went into Outlook to manage the addins and there are none for Skype... Something isn't working right on skype? Or Microsoft wanted Skype not to work? Anyway, I'll exit skype before doing my emails. Funny, it worked fine on Outlook 2003... so much for updating!

I had the same problem and it didn't get fixed after disabling the add-ons from Internet Explorer. However, after unchecking "Show Outlook Contacts" under "view" on Skype, the problem seems to have gone away: Every time I close Outlook and reopen it, a message with a request for my password comes up (which is a good sign!).
I hope this helps! Cheers!

I agree with Marcelo81. I was having the same problem and had no luck with removing any sort of toolbar or disabling add-ons. What did it for me was simply unchecking "Show Outlook Contacts" under the "View" menu. This must have been causing Skye to hold onto my PST and this keep Outlook running.

Marcelo's tip worked for me!
Disable Outlook Contacts in Menu View.

I read all of the post and tried all of the suggestions and still receive this error message when I start "Outlook."
I have search my "C" drive to delete it but it's not there! I did uninstall the plug-in but still receive the message.
