I just started using Skype on my OS X 10.4.8
I'm using the Logitech USB headset... which worked fine with my Sony Vaio PC before that died. Not the case now, with mac.
First off, skype logged off when I tried to start it up with the headset plugged in. Then it worked.. but the headset didn't. I've adjusted options under "sound" preferences, ( it is recognizing the USB headset) , so that both output and input are set to Logitech headset. I'm hearing skype tone ring through the earphones. And I can see there is input from my mike. But I'm also hearing the ring tone through the speakers at the same time and once the call is picked up the headset doesn't work at all. The other party only hears me through the internal mike and I only hear them through the speakers.
what's up? Should I set it up differently? I tried restarting the machine with the headset unplugged but then can't get anything at all when I plug it in. I downloaded skype in Dec... no idea what version it is.
Many thanks for your help!
I use the Logitech USB 250 model....and have been using it through several upgrades of Skype over the last year and a half. If you are still using the Skype version from Dec., I would suggest downloading the newest version for your Mac and try again.
