i couldn't find a Skype version for Nokia E61i...

Your solution is fring. Chech this out @ http://www.fring.com . It works with all the Symbian OS.

I use it and it works, with Symbian S60. But I think it will work with yours too

I spent 6 hours looking on dozens of websites for a real version of skype to put on a Nokia e61i phone.

As of now, I result is total zero

There is no Skype for e-series phones from Nokia yet. You might use the third-party tool fring though.

Yesterday I found this skype version hereSkype, I tried the N80 and N95 versions on my E61i, they installed perfectly, but I was not able to enter username and password.

use the number keypad as if it had letters on like a normal phone when playing with the n95 version.

Thanks James, now I can log in and get all my contacts, but still not able to find keys to make calls. Any ideas ?

On mine it is the Open button on the contacts screen (top right button), then select the call option once in the contact sub menu (top left button) - if you can't see it then I guess you have found the reason why its not out on the E60 yet!

Is it worth the husle with the N95 version of skype. does it work well?

Hi, People have asked this question for well over a year. Skype says it is coming for the E-61, but when? Thank you.

On my Nokia E61 I loaded the N95. Using the number keys just like a telephone, I can enter the name and password. I cannot send. Once I pull up the number I can select "open". After that the number shows and the choice to "block" is highlighted. I can select or cancel. I have not figured how to navigate to the point of making a call.

It worked perfectly for me... www.fring.com roooocks!!! I have just download it and installed it on my E61i ane had 3hrs call and I had no problem... It really workds, highly recomend it.
