I just called somebody on skypeout and the quality just sucks. I could understand the person but it just didnt sound good at all. I called them over SIP and it was crystal clear. Maybe I was just unlucky but it sounded muffled and unclear.
The new UI isn't the greatest either. No button to just "add" a user to the contact list. The multifunctional search/call box isn't good either. I much prefer the old UI, and having the menu bar at the top. Having a seperate call box clutters up my screen too much. its just awkward or something with no call/hang up buttons or anything.
Thanks for your feedback.

The green button at the bottom does about the same. You just enter user's skype name and click search, it's usually the first result in the list.

That's a work in progress, and we had the call window embedded in the main window in the first builds, but took it out because it was slightly bit too unpolished. It will be back.

You'll get used to it and like it very soon, believe me

If you can make some logs and create a bug report in our JIRA, and attach the logs there, that would be very helpful in diagnosing the problem. Also, there is a technical call info in call window tooltip - you can use it to see dropped packets rate - if this is too high, then some of your internet connection is at fault.
