Hi,

I'm using 2.6.0.137 and I can't seem to get Address Book import to work. I go to Contacts, Import Contacts, and then hit Go. It says Searching Address Book and just hangs. It says it found 106 contacts. It never completes.

Any ideas?

I'd like to start using Skype, but no way will I hand enter 106 contacts.

Thanks!
Aaron

From where you are importing those contacts?

How long did you wait?

How many entries do you have in you address, book among which 106 were found?

Hi Raul,

I am importing from Apple Address Book.

I have 359 contacts, so 106 seems a little low.

I waited at least 5 minutes. I just let it run in the background.

I'm also using Mac OS X 10.4.9 on a MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo.

I have never been able to get this function to work on my mac. It's really rather frustrating and is a reason I don't use Skype as much as I would like to. I know I can go into address book and right click on a name and make a call, but I should be able to call directly from Skype. I'm on a macbook pro with 2 gigs of ram. I have 370 contacts in Address Book and it hangs every time i try and import them. I'm left it going for over 30 mins and it still doesn't import 1 name. Very frustrating.

Well I finally got them to work with the latest release. The only problem is I now have multiple entries for each contact because they have more than one number. This is so annoying as I am unable to know if it's their home, work, cell or fax number. It would be nice if they all imported into one card. I know I can rename each one, but that's annoying and a waste of time.

Good to see that your problem is solved.

We will think about your idea of having multiply numbers per contact.

I've just downloaded 2.6.0.148, and my macbook still wont import contacts from address book. stlpromoterguy did you use a different method from the contacts>import contacts>address book? I've got over a hundred contacts it just tells me its found 20 then just hangs. Any help would be appreciated, cheers.

I didn't do anything special to get it to work. Trust me it shocked the hell out of me that it worked as it was the first time I had ever seen it happen on the mac side.
