My Philips VOIP841 has been working great until a short while ago. It is displaying a message "System is starting up" and is unusable for skype. I've tried resetting the device and the base.

Any thoughts?

Added later -----------

Nevermind. Looks like the base reset fixed it after all.

User manual:

Look in to network settings, e.g. router, firewall.
Make sure phone is connected to base station, section 3.6; there is a good signal, section 3.6.1.

Thanks but tried all these includung re-setting my D-Link modem/router. the strange thing is the phone was working fine but just defaulted to this "system starting up status"

Have you looked into firmware flash / upgrade? Some previous posts about this in the hardware subforum.

Someone told me in the same situation that the base station should be turned off for at least 30 seconds and then turned on again. I did that and it worked for me. Hope it will work for you. I remember how frustrating is was hi.png

This worked for me. I unplugged the power to the base station for 30 seconds, plugged it back in. It looked like nothing had changed, but about 2 minutes later the phone was suddenly working again. yay! Hope it helps someone else here.
