Hello everyone

I've been using this new 1.4 alpha version on Gentoo and it works fine, but it seems that I cannot enable Japanese input mode (scim). It worked perfectly on 1.3 though. I'm using KDE. Any idea?

Yes. Gentoo adds a script that turns off any Japanese input.
When you run skype it runs /opt/skype/skype.sh in that there is a modification of the XMODIFIERS variable. This comes from a script that was IMHO not written properly for the 1.3.x ebuilds to work around the issues shared Skype 1.3x had with scim. I'd like them to fix the 1.3 script and to remove that section entirely from 1.4 ebuild. Anyway just remove the XMODIFIERS declaration from the /opt/skype/skype.sh and it should work fine.
