Hello, I bought a skymaster p1k usb voip phone and I am trying to use this with fc6.

I installed skype and downloaded skypemate.

Following the script in the doco I installed skypemate. When I run /usr/bin/SkypeMate I get a message:

/usr/bin/SkypeMate: error while loading shared libraries: libdbus-1.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Any ideas where I go from here. I have heard that skypemate is designed for fc3 and advances since then make it incompatible with fc6!

Hello,

I have no opportunity to test it as SkypeMate seems to install only with a usb phone attached but you might try:

CODE

cd /lib
ln -s libdbus-1.so libdbus-1.so.0

You need to be root to do this.

Hi cj003, you have certainly put me on the right track:

[tim@fruitbat ~]$ /usr/bin/SkypeMate
SkypeMainWindow()
{{AzmDeviceManager()
AzmDeviceManager()}}
{{OpenDevice()
{{USBDeviceControl(101)
================Msg type = 0x01
USBDeviceControl(101)}}
OpenDevice()}}
Segmentation fault
[tim@fruitbat ~]$

I briefly see a skypemate window but then it crashes as above. I have trawled the forums and the consenus is that this app was built with an old version (fc3) and the libraries used are no longer valid. Until a new version of skypemate is release I am stuck with XP!! Not pleasant but there you go. If you have any further thoughts I would be grateful.
