I'm trying to purchase a Philips VOIP841, but when I checkout, I don't get Canadian billing/shipping address options. How can I buy this phone? Is there a store in Canada that sells these if I can't buy it through skype?

I have the same question...

Any answer ? Where can I buy this product from Canada ?

For that matter, where can I buy one in the US? Both sharperimage.com and the Skype Store are sold out.... I can't find anyone else who sells them. Seems like there are real supply channel issues with this item.

Not sure too many retailers picked it up since it didn't have additional handsets... and in the beginning, if I am not mistaken, they had exclusive deal with SkyMall (err, the parent company of)...

All PC-Less phones (minus the RTX) are designed and manufactured by the same company. Therefore say 95%? of the phone technology is the same -- only big difference the the outer case.

If you want a PC-Less phone with additional handsets, look into the Netgear SPH200D units.

This is true that the two phones (Philips and Netgear) are identical from the electrical/firmware design (you only have to read both manuals!). However, the model sold by Philips is much better from the design itself (I mean the physical aspect): while the VOIP841 looks very elegant and solidly put together, the Netgear product has a cheap, plastic look -- especially the rubber keys look and feel very ordinary.

I have bought a Philips since about two weeks (calm down, I'm located in Europe! sorry for the Canadians...), and I am very happy with it. I did not believe that it really does all what the specs (and reviews) claim, but it really does! So my recommendation is to wait until you get the Philips, at least from the design perpective it makes a substantial better figure on your furniture than Netgear.

It's been 2 years almost since I inquired with Philips about this phone (the VOIP8411B /37-27) and Philips still cannot tell me which retailers in Canada sell this phone. I tried in 2006, and late 2007. This is my 3rd time in 2008. They only tell me that they give to distributers who in turn sell to retailers, but which retailers is still a mystery. Philips only told me (and this is coming from their DECT department customer service AND technical groups) that amazon.com (not .ca) and a skybox.com sell them 'online'. BestBuy Canada and Walmart Canada both sell versions of Philips VOIP phones, but only the old versions, VOIP for MSN messenger and VOIP3211+12 USB enabled, respectively.
Pretty lousy sales service and marketing if you ask me. I'd buy 2 or 3 of these things if I could just get my hands on one (and not online either, too big of a hassle IF it turns out I don't like it; would rather be able to return it quickly to a retail store and be guaranteed a refund).

Looks like a great phone to use and save some money on international calls, as well as local calls. But extremely difficult to find retail side here in Canada. Anyways, the quest continues....

Canada has an extremely protectionsit attitude towards it's telecom industry and will adopt any tactict to avoid competition. They are after all still getting away with charging to RECEIVE calls on a cell phone when even thrid world countries don't do that!!! You will see that after several years it is still not possible to get a Canadian Skype number. If you want one of these phones you will likely have to buy it elsewhere and bring it into the country. You may well find that the reason it is not available here is because the approvals are being held up intentionally!!

ncix.com seems to have them available for special order.

NCIX.com - VOIP8411

I think I'm going to get one of these.
