Hi,

So I could successfully run the alpha in my laptop.

Given the many changes, and the existing 32 bit packages for gentoo-amd64 (basically no 32 bit Qt 4 emul packages), I went for the "static" version. Yet the static version isn't really static, as it still depends on libsigc++. To get this thing running I downloaded a 32 bit libsigc++ from a Ubuntu (Feisty) repository and I saved it to /usr/lib32, made a couple of symlinks and volia! it works!

Although I won't comment about the current state of the contacts menu (no groups and stuff), I must tell you that it looks very good (Qt 4 goodness), and I look forward to the final version. By the way, will you be using (or are you using already) Qt 4 on Windows and OS X too?

As for the sound, so far so good... it seems more stable, I'll try it more later.

As for no video, what can I say?..."He who has no expectations cannot be disappointed."

Anyway, congrats on your work. I really wish you could release versions as often as the windows version is released.
