Hi.

One of the things I think would take skype to another level is a posibility
to call skype-to-skype using Hardware like cyberPhone with a dial pad.
By giving users their own unike number, perferably based on location or similar this would, by my knowledge be quite easy to do.

Let me make an example:
I live in norway. so skype gives me number the number 47. then Skype has a devided Norway into 100 areas (00-99) say I am in area 40 my number will now be 4740. then I get a random 4 digit number behind this:
47401234. Now I have a 8-digit number to my skype account. A problem with this is that there might be some "real" phonenumbers which is identical with this one. well I see several solutions to that problem.
One is to force the country code when using skype-to-phone making a call to a norwegian phone 0047xxxxxxxx and a call to a norwegian skype 47xxxxxx.

Of course this is just an example but I believe that it is very possible to do

I hope this is possible.

hi nesvik:

why all that confusion when you have speed dial feature on skype ??
you can give a number to any of yr contacts.Perhaps there should be more than 99 , no doubt ...
Maybe with next version.
I think this is what you meant ,Unless you were talking abt skypeOut !!!

the reason I made this suggestion is that I asked some guy If it is possible to call skype-to-skype using only hardware like CyberPhone, and the answer was no.
So I figured the only way to get it was to make a suggestion.
But if a speed dial like the one you talk of exists, It is more than good enough

Thanks for the info bigsmile.png

i'm using cordless phone with skype and of course dialing from the phone keypad is only possible with speed-dial function.
right-click over any of yr contacts name and you'll see a list of functions. One of these is speed-dial.
