The beta, v2.6.0.72 for OSX had been working great for me for a while, but recently, it's stopped letting me send messages at all.

Every time I try to send a message, after a few seconds, I get a message at the top of the chat window saying:

Skype has not been able to send the messsage "whatever message I just typed"

At first, I thought it was something weird with it no longer queuing up messages when the person I was trying to message was offline, but it seems it also happens when the person is online. I've confirmed that my network is working properly, and this happens on both my Intel Core-based mac, as well as my PPC mac, and on two separate networks.

It looks like this used to be a fairly common occurrance with much older versions, but I haven't seen anyone post about newer (2.x) versions.

Is anyone else having this problem?

this happens to windows users a lot, has happened to me a lot.

i believe that at times skype seems to "forget" that a connection between yourself and the contact was established. usually when the above described problem happens to me i find placing a skype call to that person, but then hanging up just before it rings, but having allowed time for a connection to be established, "wakes" skype up and pushes the messages through. so you might like to try that. however, some people have reported that does not always work for them, and indeed it's not always worked for me, but tends to work most of the time.

Starting a call for a second will fix this.

We are working on it to have a permanent fix for this trouble.

I'm on a Mac, latest 2.6.0.151 version having this same problem.

When I try making a call to reconnect the connection, the call fails and says: "Misc Error".

This is only happening with one user in particular. Is this perhaps a problem with their setup/version/connection?

I've got the same problem. I'm also on a Mac, latest version 2.6.0.151 and always get the message that skype wasn't able to send the message for users that are in Europe. When I try to call the person I get the message "Misc Error"
The only thing that helps is to restart skype....

Any fix to this issue yet. It is rather annoying and make me want to us another provider. I love skype when it works

no i was was using the latest "real" version. I'll give the beta a try and let you know.

The beta seems to be working right now!!!! I'lll let you know if it lasts over the coming days.
