I'm using Skype with a phone handset connected to the soundcard. I encouraged my friends to switch to handsets or headsets too because echo is totally eliminated using those devices.
However, using a head/handset echo cancelling is totally unnecessary and causes breakups in the sound. I have no problem editing config.xml but I have spent much time telling my friends how to edit theirs.
Therefore, I would very much like to see an option in Skype to switch between Speaker+Mic and Handset/Headset (this option should also be shown on first install). IMO, this would still maintain the user friendliness and the simple interface concept.
By the way... does anybody know what <AdvancedFAF> is?

Regarding <AdvancedFAF>:
Just a guess but the checkbox in Options - Advanced - "Open Search window in advanced mode". (FAF = Find A Friend)

Yes, this will be great if this switcher will be not in deep menu (File->Options->Headset/...) but somewhere on call tab, like "handsfree" button on regular phones to make it easy and fast. It will be nice feature.

This is what we have been waiting for - is there any feedback from Skype development and is there any chance of seeing this soon?
Thanks
