Full Version: skype seems to be controlling the input level on OS X

In all of my skype conversations, the input level for the microphone keeps going down so that the other person in the call cannot hear me.
I have to have system preferences open and keep adjusting the sound level up.
Any ideas???
After the conversation has finished, the level goes back to normal and stays where i leave it.

What microphone are you using?

Genome
I also miss a checkbox in the audio-preferences to deactivate this automatic-input-level.
With the 2.6 beta I saw my input-level in system sound-preferences going up and down
all the time, but to me it was too loud!
Others heard my sound with some clippings and breaks.

I use a USB Plantronics headset
Connection: Cablemodem 600 up / 6000 down
Mac OS X 10.4.9 - G5 dual 2.0 GHz

I´ve gone back to version 2.5 and all was back to normal.
I can´t notice any improvements in sound of the 2.6 beta version.

The beta version seems to me a bit less solid because of some sporadic log off´s
and sometimes strange sounds like distortion.
