Don't get your post.
Is it still relevant problem?
Yes it is. 2.6 beta has the same problem as 2.5, 2.5 beta, and all the ones before it.
I posted about this in 2.5, and you replied asking what OS I was using. I only just noticed it after I posted about the 2.6 beta, and was giving you the answer here: we're using Mac OS X 10.3.9 and 10.4.8.
It is still a relevant problem - we are still entirely unable to get Skype to connect through our proxy servers because it does not appear to support authenticated HTTP/HTTPS. There is no authentication requested, and Skype also does not ask to use my proxy password already stored on my Keychain. I get this error:
Sign In Error:
Failed to sign in: https proxy authentication failed
Reminder that Skype is not displaying a proxy login dialogue, nor has it asked to use my proxy keychain item. At first glance, the above message might seem like my password was wrong, however Skype has never ever tried to obtain my password, so whatever it's trying to do with our proxy, it's the wrong thing.
If you look at the Windows version, it has a full proxy configuration panel with SOCKS5 and HTTPS options, including the ability to enable authentication. The Mac version needs the same thing. Or, if it is going to continue using the settings in System Preferences, it needs to support the same capabilities, even if the settings themselves continue to come from System Preferences.
