doh.png [b][color=#6633FF] I have a logitech webcam quick messenger model. I have downloaded new software & drivers. I have shut down firewall. to try to broadcast I have tested the webcam to se if it works fine. When I go under Skype I click on tools, scroll down to options, then click on video to test webcam. IT shows a pic so obviously passes test. If I click on webcam feature quick cam feature it won't pass test. I get error Skype did not pass test .Vieo source being used by another application. I have been able to talk to other people using the webcam but then again I have NOT BEEN ABLE TO becaue I get error out going video source not found .WEbcam could be used by another application. There use to be away to test your cam using "videoecho123" but no longer can as far as I'm aware. You would type it just above the two telephone icons to try to test cam. I have tested the cam with other people & it works great but then other times it won't work. In order to see webcam pic i cilick on quick capture in order to use webcam. I think this is the only way to make video calls using logitech webcam. I did have Yahoo Im internet telephone progam installed to. I uninstalled it thinking iti was causing the problem. But that didn't fix the problem of us cam to make video cals. very frustrated when using cam & try to connect fro important reasons & it won't braodcast video. Also I have under skype options it to beconfigured with firewall so video will work but doesn't .Any help appreciated sorry for long description but no other way i could think of explaining

Remove logitech webcam software and leave only drivers in place. Logitech software causes lot of trouble as it is pretty buggy.

please report back.

I got the same problem: got the error messag: the video source not found... webcam could be use another aplication.

I use a Philips ToUcam XS. The drives are the updated and I dont use any "philips webcam program" or so. for example my cam works fine with msn-messenger etc.

What should I do? I want to use the skype but this video thing is very irritating...

Are you getting this message when you try to make a video call, or in the Skype video preview window?

If you go to Skype / Tools / Options / Video Settings, is your camera listed in the drop-down for "Select Webcam"? If so, is there anything actually selected from that list, or is the selection blank? If you select the Philips camera, or even Windows default device, do you see a video preview?

What version of Windows are you running? Do you have the Philips VLounge software loaded?
