Full Version: Old and new Skype account blocked for usage/payments

I have a "old" Skype account, which I need to use, because I am most time out of my country and this is only way from my other location to make any calls. Today I was using my account last time at around 10.30 (GMT+2). Now (19:00 GMT+2) I liked to use again, and all outgoing calls (SkypeOut) are blocked, although I have 7 EURO credits. When I log in, I see message, that I cannot purchase or use vouchers (like MANY other users too at the moment).

I made a support ticket, but it will take days until something will happen.

OK. To use Skype today, I made a completely new account, with another eMail address, with my actual location and I tried to put some money on it with my VISA credit card. This purchase I made out of Skype directly, not over Web interface. I got mail with order confirmation ("your order is in work").

Then I logged in at website for my NEW skype account and I see the SAME message, that my account is blocked for purchasing etc.

WHAT IS GOING ON THERE? Balancing my credit card, and then blocking??? A new account, which NEVER was used before??? That's HARD!

Old Skype name: km66km
New Skype name: stefanbaruti

Last successful purchase at old account:
- Skype-Name: km66km
- Bestellnummer: 78387771
- Transaktionsdatum: 28-03-2007 12:46
- Produktname: Skype Credit balance of EUR 10.00
- Gesamtpreis: EUR 11.50
Credit card was balanced.

Addition: In my old account I am using SkypeIn and SkypePro too. Very bad to treat customers like that, which are like to pay for ALL this services.

My guess is that your old account credit expired because it wasn't used within the time limit (180 days or so).

Your new account was probably blocked because you are only allowed to use a credit card with one Skype account. wasntme.png Some security measure which I perhaps will not fully appreciate until it is set in action to protect my own card.

There's little, if anything, you can do until Skype get to your case and it will take minimum four days from when you submitted your ticket. Stick to this forum if you need help in your contacs with the official support channel.

Thanks for fast reply. But my last purchase was at 28-03-2007, so not 3 weeks ago. And SkypePro and SkypeIn subscription are valid also until 08/2007 (Pro) and 02/2008 (In).

The reason with credit card would be possible reason for not being able to use my new account sadsmile.png

Sorry you are having this problem.
Unfortunately you cannot use the same credit card for more than one Skype account.
This is an anti-fraud measure in case your card had been stolen.
You can, however, use a different card for the same account.
Until the problem is resolved please use a different method of payment or a different card.
If you don't receive a response to your filed ticket after the 4 business day period please advise here with the date of your ticket.

If not BOTH accounts (the new one, too) would be blocked for purchasing, I would purchase with another payment method. But both accounts are fully blocked:
- my SkypeIn-number is not working anymore
- my credits I cannot use for outgoing calls
- no purchase possible

And for that reason I am paying for SkypeIn and SkypePro??? GREAT! :-(((

I hope NOT, that the reason for blocking is the fact, that I am in Serbia for the moment, and I am using the most popular internet provider here, whos ip-adresses are (unfortunately) very well known for "bad things" ...

Skype unblocked my account today(?), without any notice from them, why it has been blocked, without any message from support.

But ok, it's unblocked, and I hope, this was the last time.
