Hi! Love Skype for my business. Have done amazing things w/ it, but need to bit of help.

Have been using the Skype Office Toolbar w/ the latest v of Skype. In both OUTLOOK and EXCEL, a click (center or right) pops up a dialing option thru Skype with the correct phone number. BUT...when Skype dials, the number ACTUALLY DIALED by Skype is a PREVIOUS number...NOT the one listed in the window.

Have reloaded Skype, the Add-In, etc. I'm very close to perfection using Skype in my very new business. Really need/request help.

Any thoughts?

Many thanks for what you do....

Jack

Hi Jack,
Thank you for reporting this issue. I am delighted that you have found the Skype Toolbar for MS Office.
The error you are describing, we can't reproduce it. Can you give us some more details? Maybe we are misunderstanding something.

Hi, Peter. Am thrilled that you replied and looked into this. Skype is at the heart of my busines!

Skype v 3.1.0.150 is loaded on my PC (running XP w/ 2G RAM). Have just (last few days) loaded both Skype Office Toolbar and Outlook Toolbar.

When I open an Excel spreadsheet with telephone #s in on column, I move the cursor to the cell (#) that I want to dial...let's 212-555-1234. I right click on the number in the cell, and the menu pops up from Office. Immediately, I see the option of dialing 212-555-1234 w/ Skype. I click on that line, and the Skype window dials 212-555-1234. THAT'S GREAT!

Here's the problem. I finish talking with the person at 212-555-1234; the call ends. Back to Excel, I move the cursor down ONE ROW in the same column with the phone #s; the cursor is on the next phone number: 292-555-1212. I right click and the options screen pops up...("use Skype to dial 292-555-1212"). I highlight that "dial" line, the main Skype window pops up and starts to dial....BUT the number it's dialing is 212-555-1234....the PRIOR number. The cursor in the cell is ON the next number, the # in the options windown (right click = 292-555-1212), but the number that Skype dials is the prior #.

Something appears to go on (??) between the cell w/ the number, the window that says it will dial that number, AND THEN THE MOVE TO Skype itself.

I've updated Windows, Excel, Skype, Office Toolbar, Outlook Toolbar. The FIRST TIME I USE the Office toolbar in Excel, it works perfectly. The second time...and thereafter...Skype tries to dial the PREVIOUS number....the one (1) just dialed previously, and (2) the one in the cell just above.

I can't say enough good things about Skype. It would make my life complete wink.png if I could just click on a number and Skye dials THAT NUMBER each time.

Many thanks for what you do!

Very best regards, Jack

Hi Jack
Thanks for the elequent description of what happens. It is very flattering to be at the heart of your business. :-)
I just did exactly what you describe and it works as intended (the two numbers get called correctly in sequence).

Could you please try the Create Skype links feature in the Office toolbar.

It will transform all phone numbers in your document to Skype links, which will be directly clickable (no right-click). Could you please try if the error still persists when clicking those links?

Peter, you and your team are brilliant! The key step was (of course) clicking on the Create Skype links feature. Works PERFECTLY over and over again.

I did keep getting "hyperlinks are dangerous things" warning after clicking and prior to Skype dialing. But I found a Microsoft solution to turn off those warnings: Security Reg. Editiing.

Many thanks for your superb work and support here. This tweak makes a very big difference to all of us.

Very best regards, Jack

Hi Jack,
We appreciate your praise :-)
About the security setting (we would never recommend that you lower security settings): If you save your spreadsheet as html the links will be preserved and you can dial from there. In the web browser links are not considered dangerous nerd.png
Pleas let us know if you have any further questions.
