is there is any command equivalent to the functionality of WM_CLOSE ?

can anyone help me out?

Can you be more specific, do you mean a way to un-attach from the API or Skype4COM lib? or are you asking about the ability to close specific Skype client windows, if so, what windows?

i just want to hide the Skype IM window to minimze , not even to be displayed in the task bar ..

i used sw_hide , i avhieved the desired result but the issue was when i try to open the chat window in Skype , i could not do that as i have hidded the window with particular handle ...

As far as I know this is not possible. Not even with Silent Mode you don't get this result as Skype will always run in the task bar at least.
