there is a similar and related topic ( http://forum.skype.com/index.php?showtopic=81617&hl= ) in the skype for windows section of the forum, however, as this section is dedicated to the 3.2 beta release i thought it best to post here.

in tools>options>notifications i have disabled hints and tips.

still i recieve a tip saying "Do you recieve unwanted chats....". nope, i do not recieve unwanted chats... but i do recieve unwanted tips...

plz see attached screenshot.

LM can I suggest a clean reinstal because I run the same Beta version as you and do not have this problem, or I seem to remember another tip something about deleting the Skype folder but of course you must remember you username and password.

clean install done, unwanted tips still showing up. maybe these bits of info are not qualified as hints or tips or promtions under skype's logic.

the notifications were already turned off before i saw the tip.

on seeing the tip first few times (before reposting on forums) i did click on the x as there was nothing else to do. the screenshot where the x has not been clicked was for the purpose of illustration in the forum.

also, after RM's advice i did a clean install and first thing i did in skype was to disable the options. tips still show up. (and at the time of setting the options there were no tips showing)

i've also tried (after turning off the tip by clicking x) to change the options to enabled, saving, reloading and disabling and saving... still the tip comes up.

have just tried on the latest beta version... if say i use echo's call back feature and echo calls me, the popup appears saying "getting unwanted calls? click here tochange your privacy settings"
