I have a Media Center PC and Skype also happens to be installed on it -- this allows my MediaPVR to interact with skype via a plugin I wrote. Anyway, the 3.0 and prior version never took focus off of my PVR app and the 3.1 and this version does. Since I normally only use my programmable remote control, it's annoying to have to pull out my mouse or keyboard and manually give my PVR app focus again...after every phone call.
Another thing I noticed is that cute little center screen box saying that you have an incoming call. This is fine an d dandy, but my PVR plugin already does that. How do I turn this off? If there is an API call to do this, that would be great.
Lastly, I was hoping that setting the PVR to hidden would resolve the focus issue, but it does not. It's hidden during the call, but after hanging up, there is a brief flicker of the Skype Client app and then it disappears. The problem is that, in doing so, it again takes focus off my app.
Skype 3.2 Beta Version: 3.2.0.53
OS: Windows XP sp2 with timezone patch
USB PCPhoneline product installed

You can change call notification in options.
Go to:
* Tools
* Options
* Notifications
* When someone calls me
* Select: Show Tray alert
Then it should behave as 3.0 did.
Did it help you?

The little center screen pop up is no longer happening, but it's still grabbing focus during a call. I also noticed that the hidden API call now flickers the app and then disappears. 3.0 didn't do this and is something new that started happening in 3.1/3.2. I want the new features, but doesn't lend itself to being a good player on a home theater PC environment.

I am annoyed by the opposite problem. Before version 3, when a call came in skype would open on the screen and focus on the incoming call tab. I could then flick the call to voicemail if I was busy. Now, I have to open skype myself and then open the incoming call tab.
Why not just offer more options?

I wish I had that problem.
Well I just tried 3.2.0.82 (or 83, whichever) and am still having the focus problem. Since this is now seriously cutting into the WAF, I had to downgrade to 3.0 and now is working as expected. I guess I'll just wait until the next release and see if it's fixed.

Have you tried setting Skype to silent mode?

Yeh, I tried that, it's how I have it integrated with SageTV. The thing is that when I hang up, the app flickers for a moment and disappears -- to me, this is not truely a silent mode. In doing so, it appears that Skype is grabbing focus and, in doing so, takes focus off my PVR app. I usually use a remote control and the flicker requires me to get up, grab the keyboard and set focus to SageTV...after every phonecall.
