sorry if this is not the right forum, but I don't know if the problem I'm experiencing is a bug or a feature. :-)

I love skype, however one thing I really hate is that it display this splash screen on top of every other window every time it starts. The splash screen stays on for about 40 seconds (when it's establishing connections to peers?) and that's a very long time to take over my computer.

The problem also seems to happen when I resume from hibernation, although of course there is no splash screen then, it just hangs for about 40s to a minute.

I'm using win2k and a PIII 800Mhz laptop

it works already ! There is an option (I found it in my autostart Reg-key "run") called "/nosplash"

Yes, this is even true in OS X. Please change this. Though 40 seconds? Mine is there for about 2.

maybe this is because of a slow computer combined with a lot of stuff to start
