Hi, anyone else experiencing this! I have 2.2 beta installed on 8525, everytime I get a call or make a call, it disconnects Skype and tries to resign after I hang up! also curious when the 2.2 wil be GA and out of Beta? Thanks

It sounds like you're using the Low CPU version. Your device only supports the High CPU version, which can be found on the download page.

Hi
The only time I had a problem like this was when I was connected to a WiFi that had many users. The connection speed was so low that skype functioned strangely. This isn't a problem for me always so I'm not sure if you're having different issues.

can't find the High CPU version link, it simply has the Dec.16 version as the latest when I click on HTC and then select Tytyn. can you please post link if there is one for the High CPU version. thanks

That is the High CPU link, so you seem to have some other sort of problem.

Metasharma,

Which type of network connection are you using on your 8525 when running Skype?

my bad for not clarifying.. I only use Skype on 8525 for IM. The inbound/outbound call I am referring to is a regular call made from 8525. I have a Cingular unlimited data plan and connect via 3G. I noticed when I move from a edge/gprs area to 3G (shows U on my 8525) it also disconnects Skype. Weired stuff? same behavior when I connect via Wifi

Hi,

This may be more a Cingular/ATTWS issue than a Skype issue. For example switching between EDGE and 3G may involve different network providers and therefore a different IP address. There will also be the issue of how quickly the phone makes the switch between the two.

As for the wifi side of things, yup I'm stumped to. Only thing I can think of would be some form of power saving feature within the phone suspending the other connection whilst making a voice call. Of course being on wifi you could use the skype to make outgoing calls smile.png

I think you're using the wrong version all together...
First you want to go to "Skype 2.2 BETA for Windows Mobile"
You will see a list of brands, but click the link at the bottom "Click here for other brands"
The version for the 8525 is there. I'm not sure if it's different from the HTC TyTN version of skype, but it is working fine for me

I just downloaded Skype 2.2 beta for my Cingular 8525 phone and the problem is the same as listed above. It connects fine but when i click on a name to call or even dial the number manually it just logs me off and goes to the main screen.

Anyone else experienced this? I have a friend who has Windows Mobile 6 on this and he too has the same issue.

File downloaded is SkypeForPocketPC.exe 4.49 MB.

While the skype was on the beta versions, worked fine on my 8525 Cingular. Now got a new 8525 that had the new ATT built and tried the 2.2 and had the same problem as described above. So the final version for me does not work.

My solution was to search the web for the 2.1 version (since skype does not have a previous versions link). I removed the 2.2, installed the 2.1 and it worked fine. Give it a shot.
