I am experimenting with the Skype OSX API (the Skype API Test application), but I can't get a lot of the API commands to work. The SET USERSTATUS command works, as does the START CHAT and a few others. However the SEARCH GROUPS doesn't work, nor does the SEARCH FRIENDS. Interstingly enought, the SEARCH USERS works fine.

Is this a current limitation of the OSX API or am I doing something wrong?

while i am unsure of the commands you have mentioned, there have been a couple of reports of API commands missing from the OS X API. you can report any you might find in this JIRA issue: https://developer.skype.com/jira/browse/SPA-242
