When I try to make calls to a land line I get an error, "Sorry, call failed." The message appears immediately after the call jingle. If I call the test line I can make the call and hear my message repeated back to me. This is on a brand new install of Ubuntu Edgy.

Bump, anyone?

It turns out I'm an idiot and was logging in with a "Free" account. The Windows version of Skype indicated I needed to purchase Skype credits to call landlines. The Linux version didn't give me the reason, just a generic error. That's when I realised I was logging in with the wrong account.
