Hi.
I noticed that if skype proxy configuration is set thru group policy, skype would keep on trying to connect to proxy.
However, if skype proxy configuration is set manually, skype would try to connect thru other means if proxy server can't be reached.
Is there anyway of configuring skype (that has proxy configuration set by group policy) to connect thru other means if the proxy server can't be reached.
I am using version 3.0.32.217.
Thanks.

Try the network / connectivity / setup parts of this forum.

Hello,
Two and a half years later using Skype 4.1, this is still a problem. Basically, it means that the proxy must be set manually on many machines in order for Skype to work when it can't find the proxy (ie outside of our network).
Summary of issue: If configuring via GPO and proxy settings are grayed out, Skype will require that proxy to connect. If proxy settings are defined manually, connection will work fine via proxy AND when proxy is not present.
Is there a solution to this?
