what if you find on the 18th of january that the connection on all your calls is 0.00 (i.e. what if the connection fee does not effectthe numbers you are calling)?

also what if when connection fee is put in place skypeout rates fall?

wait and see what happens, patience is afterall required when running a business.

to my knowledge skype has not yet published the fees so can you please tell me where you are getting the fee's figures? maybe skype will say for all domestic calls the fee is 0.00 and maybe connection fees will only apply for international calls... they have not yet given figures.... if youhave seen published figures somewhere please provide the link.

You are talking absolute rubbish.
Skype has not yet announced the new calling costs so you have no idea what they will be.
Also please use a normal size font when posting.
I can read perfectly well thank-you without resorting to the Hubble Telescope.

mr-smith, I hope you run your business a bit more professional than your forum posts - otherwise you'll be gone soon.

Just because others are not as frightened as you are by the word "fee" in an announcment there is no need to jump on them, regardless of their number of previous posts. Some have a bit more experience in the forums than others....

BTW: Have you ever considered the possibility that the announcment "0-0.039 €" could as well (at least using your own headbang.png logics) be read "zero minus .039 €" (= you get a refund of .039 € for every call)? party.png
mr-smith
let's wait and check personal i am not fill good about skype announcement

any news about new fee ????
gotgameboy
One thing we should all keep in mind. Skype only charges to trunacte to local PSTN numbers. Not to other SKYPE users. SKYPE to SKYPE calls will always be free. Voip buster is free for now but eventually they will have to charge or make you listen to annoying advertisements before your call is placed. SKYPE is the best deal going!

Surely you cant run a business using voipbuster ? If they are anything like Voipstunt they have a fair use policy which if you exceed in a given period they will charge you at normal rates

please see quote from their voipbuster website:

Registered users get max 300 minutes per week of free calls, measured over the last 7 days. Unused free minutes cannot be taken to the following week(s). If limit is exceeded the normal rates apply.

and if you can only run a business with free calls then you have a poor business model !!

some one told me voipbuster free phone is good as much there is no rush on gatway

that's true

Well do the maths guys - I have - & I will again when the announcement is made.

I make around 250 calls per month to numbers outside my home country on Skypeout.

If they stiff me for 0,039 per connection that's about 4 Euros per month or 48 per year that I'm not paying right now. So the next calculation will be where do i get that back from ?

If the answers not good then the Internet Service Providers are offering Internet+Phone deals with unlimited European calls and it could well be goodbye Skype.

As a general principle connection charges are unjustified and a rip off. the mobile phone industry started with them but by & large have dropped them as customers hate it & can see what a rip off it is. devil.png

They kept millions of users waiting for more then a month, but today Skype (Ebay) finally announced their new "pricing strategy"....

Voipbuster could not believe it: instead of lowering their prices they decided to put a sneaky new charge of 3,9 eurocents on all calls!! For almost all Skype users this means a price increase of over 50%!

Time to switch, because Voipbuster, the biggest rival of Skype, announced today more new countries can be called for FREE. Making the price difference even bigger!

Well, only if nobody ever places calls longer than four minutes (@global rate: 4x 2 cents= 8 cents of which 50% makes roughly the connection fee)......

I'd say the 4.5 €cents connection fee doesn't hurt that much, even though I don't like it either.

Well in this competive world we all have the choice to use or move around. from my point SKYPE has greater quality.
But its a personal decision to everyone.

ALSO
You can no longer get SKYPEIN /VM from VoiPStunt

Or perhaps in the case of Skype and their attempt at PR with respect to connection fees - it ought to be

You would not try to run a taxi business using 20 year old cars you bought for next to nothing; likewise, you would be wise not to base your business model around a free Internet-based phone, that is just not smart. When you cut corners, have a backup plan in case you get bit you-know-where, and don't whine when your free ride wants to make a buck, too. Learn your lesson and move forward.
