Hi,

I am newbie to the forum. I've just been asked by my boss to investigate whether it is possible to record a telephone conversation that you have with someone else.

I'm running Version 2.5 at the moment and can't see anything in the tools menu. I'm currently downloading V3 as I type this so will investigate this.

If anyone has implemented this can they tell me how it is done, if not just let me know and I'll tell my boss.

Thanks.

it's possible, but you would need a third party application (an addon).

two very popular addon's are pretty may and pamela. (a quick search of the forum will show many posts about them and their website links)

they have many other functions such as answer machine. and to my knowledge both have the ability to record calls. however, both are for windows users.

i am using pamela, and it works fine.

there are free versions with limited use and there are paid for versions.

so yes you can record calls by all means, but you would need a third party application working with skype. some of these areavaliable via the "extra's" menu in the "do more" section on version 3.0 of skype.

hope that helps.

Hi,
Atcom AU-600 Skype Gateway records Skype conversations as wav files.
Pamela, Kish-Kish, Prettymay also record Skype conversations.
Telecom Dude
There is also Hot Recorder, which I've had pretty good experiences with smile.png It isn't free, though.

Solicall works for me and it's free. It records my skype calls as MP3 and/or as WAV files, based on my preference.

I also give a vote for Pamela it works very well at recording Skype calls

Hi Ozskyper.

I installed Pamela Basic a little while ago, and ever since - my Skype out calls are cut off at exactly 15 minutes (although I'm not recording them, and haven't launched the Pamela plug-in). Have you had any similar problems?

Keith,

The freeware Pamela Basic has a recording limitation of 15 minutes. That is why it cuts off.

Hope this clarifies, if you have any further questions please let me know.

What type of phones are you using?

Dependant on the type of phone you are using, if you are looking for hardware based, we carry a USB Call Recorder that connects through the USB port on your PC, then you plug in your phone and when a call comes in our you call out you can press the Record button and record away, the files are stored in the location you choose, either your PC or a server, then you can search using the software.

If it is a call center type setup and you have a supervisor that needs to listen in (for training purposes) there is an additional bit of software that lets them listen in to the call over the network.

please feel free to contact me with details of your setup and i will see if we can put togeter a solution.

Regards

Trevor

You must check state laws regarding recording of voice calls.

Hi,

Skype 3.x comes with the Pamela Call Recorder which is very easy to use and is Skype certified. Downloaded more then 3 million times.

Pamela Call Recorder has the same interface as Skype, offers call recording, notes taking, automatic call recording and a lot more.

If you are looking for more functions we also have Pamela Professional. If you want to fax any document easily with your Skype credit take a look at PamFax.
pirate_princess
all above works..problem is..you have to pay for them..none of them is free..
DickS
Hi,

Pamela Call Recorder is free and allows to record max. 15 minutes per Skype call. Same applies for Pamela Basic.

The other editions are not free, but offer unlimited recording. However for most people 15 minutes is god enough.
