My boyfriend and I really love Skype, without it we would be lost as its been our main connection to one another because Skype is the best program out there for clear sound quality and great video, not to mention all the extras with it.

From time to time we do update to newer versions but there always seems to be problems, understandably so though....considering they are betas and these kinks need to be worked out so we do understand that.

But when we upgraded from 2.5 to the new 3.0 and we did a video call and BLAMM...LAG LAG LAG. 2.5 also lagged but not as bad as 3.0 did. Theres most times that both our videos are black screens, or mine works fine but his is showing for me as black screen and vise versa. Disconnecting and reconnecting doesn't help....and my task manager shows Skype running with 40,000 memory usage...YIKES. 2.5 only uses about 20.000 so thats bearable but double the memory usage just for a beta? Thats just crazy.

Please tell us what we can do to fix this. if there is an error report we can submit can u please tell us what file we need to send to you on both ends so u can take a look at this and maybe we can use the beta again?

Sincerely
Parijs

I have Nexxtech Webcam and the latest drivers installed for it. I don't know that I want to do that call out test because that means I gotta reinstall the beta again, I might just wait till others say its working better I guess.

With updating SKYPE your firewall must be updated as well.
Exit/Close your current Skype by clicking in system try Skype icon (down near the right corner green spot)
and choosing “Quit” from there if needed.
Open firewall, in programs, deletes Skype.
Run Skype and allow connecting
This also affects SP2 users who should follow above procedure.
With SP2 firewall.
Disabling external firewall will enable XP firewall by default.
So if you disable any other firewall XP firewall will now block your connections.
So remove Skype from XP firewall program list as well
