It would be great to get it to work on these systems as an on screen add-in.

Mythtv is a little more open source and might be easier.
Has anyone tried these? I would love to hear about it.

It is really fun to control the computer by remote. And Skype integrating into Media Center Edition's interface would be awesome as you could control skype by remote. (I made it work this way too, but it was difficult)

MCE is not only about watching a movie or TV, it's an interface that is easily controlled by remote.
