Is anyone else having this problem? When say, prompted with a menu when dialing a technical support line, and they say "Press 1 for Technical Support, Press 2 for Sales, etc" and you hit ONE, it doesn't register, and futhermore, you get "choppy" playback after you hit any key, finally, you just get disconnected.

For me, this only happens when calling 1-800/888 numbers to the USA. It feels like the tone isn't long enough or isn't making it to the other end of the connection. It happens when you click the 1 on the dial pad, or when you press 1 on your keyboard.

Problem occurs on Beta 2.5 and the latest full release, 1.5 (??) for Mac, and can be duplicated on:

MacBook Pro 17" 2.16 gHz, Tiger OS X 10.4.8
PowerBook G4 17" 1.5 gHz, Tiger OS X 10.4.8

It has happened to me since I started using Skype, a few years ago, through many OSs.

Search for DTMF problems. There are some already.

We are working on it.

I have the same problem on 2.0.0.6: tones don't register and sound is garbled immediately after hitting the first one. This has apparently been a problem for over a year now, but it works fine if you have an external handset, so it seems like a software issue.

I don't know if it works with 2.5, but this little gizmo has been helpful with my version:
